Reveal
During step four of the villain phase, each player (in player order) reveals and resolves all facedown encounter cards that have been dealt to them, one card at a time in the order in which they were dealt.
To reveal an encounter card, follow these steps:
-
Turn the encounter card faceup.
-
If the encounter card’s type is:
-
Attachment: It enters play attached to the game element specified in its text.
-
Environment: It enters play in the villain’s play area.
-
Minion: It enters play in the play area of the player revealing it. It is considered to engage that player.
-
Obligation: It enters play in the play area of the player revealing it.
- If the card specifies a player to give it to, that player is considered to be revealing it.
-
Side scheme: It enters play in the villain’s play area.
-
Treachery: Place it on the table in front of the player revealing it. (It is not in play.)
-
Other: Place it on the table in front of the player revealing it. (It is not in play.)
-
Resolve each “When Revealed” ability on that card (including those provided by keywords).
-
If the card is a treachery, discard it.
If a player is instructed by card text to reveal an encounter card from the encounter deck or any other game area, this same resolution procedure applies.
